I could feel the tension in the air as I nervously twirled a strand of my hair.
"Killian, you know how important this is for both of us," I said, searching for reassurance in his stormy eyes.
He sighed, his brows furrowing, "Catalina, I can't risk attracting attention. You understand, right?"
I nodded, but my disappointment lingered. "I wish you could be there. It's our baby, after all."
He took my hands in his, a mixture of sadness and determination in his gaze. "I know, love, but we can't be too careful. The last thing we need is unwanted attention."
I nodded, I hated to admit it but he was right. His presence would cause more harm than good.
As I prepared to leave for the appointment, Killian held me close, his warmth a comforting embrace. "Promise me you'll bring back the ultrasound pictures. I want to see our little one."
I smiled, touched by his vulnerability. "I promise, Killian. I'll capture every detail for you."
