Chapter 26: Not Good Enough
Sarah gasped and took a step back, hitting the car behind her. She winced at the intense sound of the car screeching as William stepped even closer and locked her in by placing his hands on either side of her head.
William leaned in, bringing his face to hers so that their noses almost touched. “You can’t answer me anymore? At least you should try harder,” he sneered at her and she felt like someone had punched her in the stomach.
She almost doubled over from his hurtful words. “You are such an asshole,” she whispered shakily, her breath touching his lips. “Why do you always say things you know will hurt me?”
William flinched after hearing her confession as if he had just realized whom he was talking to. “I can’t keep doing this with you,” he said, backing away. “I won’t.”
