My heart raced as I tried to digest the fact that that man almost hurt me.
I wondered what would have happened if the officers weren't there to stop him just in time.

Dave had never been there for me as a child, not even the slightest.
The earliest memory I have of a father figure is my grandfather helping to care for me whenever my mother was busy.
