Chapter 28 Charles
Olivia's POV
I glanced up and there he was—standing by the entrance, a small smirk playing on his lips. A rush of apprehension swept over me; I wasn't prepared to meet him just yet. My fingers hovered over the keyboard, still composing the proposal that demanded my attention.
"May I?" His voice carried a charismatic tone as he gestured towards the empty chair opposite me.
I nodded, and he walked in with the ease of a true gentleman, closing the door gently behind him. His presence was commanding, and it was hard to believe he had recently been involved in a car accident. Yet, it wasn't my place to pry into the details.
"Olivia White, correct?" he inquired, his gaze locked on mine.
I nodded, meeting his gaze head-on. "Charles Harrington?" I shot back, trying to assert a level of control in the conversation.
I winced as I adjusted the bandage on my arm, the remnants of the recent car accident still fresh on my mind.
