Chapter 19 Alcohol Poisoning
Olivia’s POV
The dingy overhead lights flickered as I approached my former desk, and the air buzzed with the low hum of the fluorescent bulbs.
Harper looked up from her work, her eyes widening as she took in the sight of me settling into my chair. She hurriedly got up and walked over to me, her excitement bubbling like a child on Damientmas morning.
"Don't tell me they transferred you back?" she inquired, her voice full of hope.
"Temporarily," I replied, glancing around the office. "Serena is sick; she's in the hospital."
Harper's expression shifted from elation to concern. "Oh my, what happened?" she asked, her eyes searching mine for answers.
"I have no clue, Harps," I admitted, shaking my head. "But here I am."
She shrugged, a grin returning to her face. "Well, at least you're back. Things were starting to slow down around here. I'm sure our productivity dropped."
I chuckled, dismissing her exaggeration. "Come on, it can't be that bad," I insisted, powering up
