CHAPTER 21 THE NIGHT’S RECKONING
Bianca’s eyes flicked to the gun and then back to the man, who was now gasping for breath. “You don’t deserve to breathe,” she hissed, tightening her grip.
“Let him go, now!” the security guard shouted, his hand shaking on the gun. “Or I will shoot!”
She stared at the man, her grip not loosening for a moment. Her mind was a whirlwind of rage and hatred, and she knew she could easily snap the man’s neck without a moment’s hesitation.
But something stopped her. Maybe it was the pleading look in the man’s eyes, or the memory of Ethan’s face, or the knowledge that killing the man would mean the end of her career.
Slowly, she released her grip, her hand falling away from the man’s throat.
He collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath and clutching his neck.
“You’re lucky,” she growled, glaring down at him. “But if I ever see you in here again, you won’t be so lucky.”
The security guard stepped forward, grabbing her by the arm. “Come with me,” he said firmly.
