CHAPTER 105 A DESPERATE EFFORT
"Useless, pathetic excuse for a man," she spat, glaring at the empty space in front of her. "One week. A whole week and not even a word. Does he think I'm that disposable?"
The fury that had been simmering beneath the surface finally erupted. She threw the bottle against the wall, watching as it shattered into a million pieces, spraying glass and wine in a glittering arc.
Madeline stared at the mess she'd made, her hands shaking with a mix of rage and adrenaline. She was fed up. She'd been played, thrown aside like a worn-out rag, and she was done being the punchline of Ethan's joke.
She stormed into her bedroom, yanking open her closet. "If he's too much of a coward to apologize," she muttered, "then I'll go and get the apology myself."
She pulled out a tight, red dress, the one that had always made Ethan's jaw drop. "Time to put on a show."
