Chapter 25: Jealous

Mr Connor's been avoiding my calls and the bakery's been getting a lot of visits from surveyors. Ryan said he would speak to Mr Connor but I know it's headed nowhere, seeing as nothing's been done. After a hectic day with Rachel, going around Stowe and searching for a possible new space—and finding none of course—Rachel and I call it a day. "Here," she says excitedly, forcing me to take a turn down the driveway of Trapp Family Lodge. She's meeting her boyfriend for a date here and she wants me to tag along. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, other than being the third wheel. I pull my car off to the side, hoping it doesn't stand out too much beside the other luxury cars around. Pretty sure it still does. "Just... I'm not dressed well enough to be in there," I say, peering down at my overly casual blouse and slacks. They happen to be the most comfortable clothes in my wardrobe, so I wear them for 'run arounds'. "You look hot, as always. Just come with, Amber," she whine
