The boardroom fell into stunned silence as Emma strode confidently toward the table, a determined glint in her eyes. Eleanor, caught off guard by Emma’s sudden appearance, tried to mask her surprise with a veneer of composure.
“Don’t you think it’s better to consult the daughter of Raymond’s company?” Emma’s voice cut through the tension in the room.
