Rebecca groaned as she rolled over on the couch, the sharp throbbing in her head refusing to let her ignore the consequences of last night’s drinking. Every pulse of her migraine felt like a hammer pounding at her skull. She pressed her hand to her forehead, hoping to somehow push the pain away, but it was useless. The only thing she could do was get out of bed and face the day, as unpleasant as it might be.
Dragging herself out of the couch, Rebecca stumbled to the bathroom, her stomach churning as the full effects of her hangover hit her. She barely made it to the toilet before she was throwing up, each heave making her head pound even harder. When she finally finished, she sat back on the cold bathroom floor, panting and exhausted, feeling utterly miserable.
