AMBER'S POV
The mug slipped from my hand and fell to the ground with a huge crash as it broke into many pieces. Mel was starstruck as she looked at me hurrying to pick up the pieces of glass before any of the children stumbled into the kitchen and end up getting hurt.
'You said you did what?" The words stumbled out of her mouth as she kept on staring at me. I had no intentions of telling her about what had happened at the reunion party but her persistence had made me spill the beans or in this case, the coffee.
I stuttered as I stood up with a piece of the broke mug, 'It was a mis..take, it ju..st hap..pened and he was there to help me in time" Mel's eyes were filled with tears as some rolled down her cheeks.
'You should have waited for me, Amber. What if he didn't arrive in time?" She said in between gasps as she broke down in tears. I had never been a great friend to Melissa Hughes and I felt horrible as I watched her cry for me, for my life, for my stupid choices.
