Chapter 13: The confrontation.
Henry was fuming as he grabbed her design sketches from the desk, ripped them up, and spilled the cup holding her pens and pencils. "Do you believe you are free to do whatever you please because you are cozy with my uncle?"
"What's gotten into you? If you want to lose your cool, go outside. You're in my office."
Henry sneered at her. "Oh, I get it. You're still bitter because I left you and married Taylor. I can't believe I didn't see how mean you were. It's like you were putting on a charade."
Madison looked at him, unimpressed. "Bitter? Please. You're not even good at the basics. What's there to be bitter about if you could say, 'I'm happy' and glad I didn't have to spend the rest of my life with someone like you?"
Henry's face turned red with anger. Madison was the only one who knew his embarrassing secret. Taylor was too young to understand these things. But Madison's bringing it up made him feel really bad. He changed the subject. "So, you like Mark better, huh? I bet
