Olivia could tell that Darren had forgotten about her mother's death anniversary just by the way he reacted. She wasn't surprised, though; she didn't expect him to remember.
He struggled to remember for a while, looking sad and letting out a sigh. "So, it's her death anniversary..."
"The most important thing now is that you and Aunt Hillary take care of yourselves," Olivia said calmly.
"Are you really... going back?" He looked hopeful.
"Yeah, I'm staying for a bit before leaving."
Hearing her speak with such certainty, Darren was overcome with sadness and disappointment. "Ah... So you're really leaving."
"Call me if you need me."
Darren fell silent, clearly feeling down. After a long pause, he finally responded, "Sure, but Tyler has been taking care of us anyway. We'll manage."
"Okay." Olivia replied, not showing much concern for his disappointment.
