That morning, Tyler was already seated in the dining room. Camilla stood beside him and said softly, "Ms. Olivia went to a place these past few days."
Tyler glanced at her but didn't respond. She continued, "Jacob's body was not cremated. It was donated."
Tyler's calm demeanor shifted; his brows knitted into a frown. "She donated Jacob's body?" he asked, staring at her.
"Yes."
Tyler's grip on his cutlery slackened, his fingers releasing the fork. It clattered onto the plate with a resonant clang.
The sound echoed in the dining room. Camilla observed him for a long moment before asking cautiously, "Sir…?"
Tyler let out a cold laugh. "Why did she donate his body?"
Camilla, thinking he sought an answer, began to think for a response. Just then, Tyler spoke again, his voice a low murmur. "To keep him preserved—forever."
