While blocking their way, Layla stared at Olivia and asked, "Do you really have to go with them?"
Olivia looked up at Layla's face in response.
The two of them locked eyes, and after a moment, Olivia spoke. "If you're not drinking, then just go home. I'm an adult. I know what I'm doing, so you don't need to worry about me."
She uttered the last sentence with the fading clarity she had left.
Layla froze for a moment, taken aback. She hadn't expected Olivia to be sober enough to say something like that.
After a brief pause, Layla replied, "If this is your choice, then I'll let you be."
Without another word, she turned and walked past them.
Olivia made no move to stop her. Instead, she simply leaned against the men as she watched Layla's retreating figure.
The men's attention returned to Olivia.
The one closest to her grinned, his voice eager. "Let's go, beautiful. Let's head to your hotel."
Olivia tore her gaze away from Layla and smiled up at the man.
"Sure…" Her voice linger
