Chapter 1497
Olivia quickly grabbed the receiver she had just set down and held it to her lips. Her voice trembled as she asked, "How do you know all this?"
Her fingers wrapped tightly around the metal railing in front of her. "Who told you?"
Her hand shook uncontrollably, and her eyes locked on Jacob, sharp and searching.
On the other side of the glass, Jacob let out a soft chuckle. The smile on his face was faint, reaching his eyes, but it didn't erase the sadness on his features.
"Olivia," he said gently, "it doesn't matter. Just don't hide things like this from me again, okay?"
"Jacob, tell me! Who told you?" Her voice grew louder, her grip on the railing tightening until it seemed like she might snap it in two.
Jacob's unsettling smile remained, unwavering. It only made her more uneasy.
"I guessed," he replied simply.
"No," Olivia said firmly, shaking her head. "That's impossible, Jacob! There's no way you could guess these things."
