CLAUDIA. I watch as the guards obey Achilles, taking Larkin by the arms and locking him in handcuffs. The others uncuff us, and I nearly fall to the floor at the absence of any support. Achilles rushes toward me as Larkin starts to scream. His wrists are bloody, and I can feel the warm liquid against me as he holds my face. He tries to make me look at him, but the feelings of shame are still strong and all I can do is look at Larkin. "This is unjust!" he yells. "This is preposterous!"
