Chapter 42

ACHILLES. “Are you sure we’re going to approach the whole situation like that?” Carlos asks as we walk around the village outside the palace. It’s late now, around ten in the evening. All of the villagers have settled and we’re now just seeing if all of them are safe and satisfied with their new homes. So far, their new neighborhood is quiet, and I can feel the peace all around. It seems that they have retired to sleep after we handed out food, and it makes me happy to know that I’m helping. I myself am tired, and I know it would be best for me to sleep too. But I can’t. I don’t think I will be able to. Just the simple fact that Claudia is in the same place as I am gets me giddy enough to last a few days awake.
