Chapter Fifty Four: A Day of Reprieve
Victor parked the car in a reserved parking space.
"Where is this place?" Layla asked him.
Victor got out of the car first. Layla unbuckled her seat belt and got down from the car.
She placed one hand beneath Derek's bottom to support his weight on her chest.
"You can get everything you wish to have here."
Layla furrowed her brows, following Victor's lead.
"I often come here when I need to relax," he told her as they walked down the path.
"Do I need to cover Derek's eyes? He's too young to be badly influenced."
Victor glanced at her over his back, an amused expression on his face.
"It's the Country Park. You have nothing to fear. Derek's eyes are safe."
"Okay."
Layla and Victor hiked down the trail.
"This place is beautiful," Layla remarked, admiring the scenery.
They sat on a bench overlooking the lake.
The flowers were in bloom, and they cast a picturesque effect on the environment.
