Chapter Fifty One: Boredom
Layla sat listlessly on the bed and watched as Derek played on the floor with his toys.
He was having such a great time.
She wished his excitement would rub off on her, but there was zero probability of that happening.
She was bored out of her wits.
She hated being idle. She hated the feeling of having no purpose for her life.
All she did was wake up, eat, and sleep.
There was nothing productive she was doing.
At the rate she was going, she might become insane.
She was lonely and depressed.
She had tried knitting, staring at the walls, engaging in domestic chores, and watching TV, but she got tired of all of them eventually.
She missed her independence. It felt like she had been in Canaan's home since years when it had only been a week that she had been imprisoned there.
"Imprisoned," Layla repeated.
Yes. Imprisoned was the word for her current situation.
She was being held up in a fancy home, underscoring its actual purpose with its immaculate decor and lovely ambiance.
