Seraphina's POV
After paying the hefty bail for visitation, Damon finally got to see me in the police station.
I sat there, my face pale, staring blankly ahead. It felt as though my soul had been ripped from my body, leaving me speechless and numb—not even noticing when Damon walked in.
“Seraphina?”
Damon hurried to my side, taking my hand tightly in his, his eyes filled with concern and sorrow.
“Seraphina, why did you do this?”
“Dam—” I slowly lifted my head, my gaze finally landing on him.
It felt like I had found my savior. I instinctively grasped his hand.
“It wasn’t me, Damon! I didn’t mean to kill Thalia Nightbane. Do you believe me? The accident wasn’t intentional. It was really just that—a pure accident!”
“Seraphina, I believe you!”
Damon’s gaze was unwavering, full of trust.
“But all the evidence points to you. They say it was deliberate murder. Seraphina, the last call Thalia received—it was from you. Can you explain why you called her?”
