Alpha Jaxon's POV
Had it all been in vain? If the Supreme Witch couldn't help me then I had no other hope.
Just like that, my mind traveled back in time to when I found out that Freya's unborn child wasn't mine.
That clawing feeling of regret and hopelessness. Regret that I had gotten so bound in my pursuit of a cure. The hopelessness of knowing that I was as much a slave to the curse as my ancestors had been.
The only difference between us was the fact that I would not accept it. I would not go down quietly.
I opened my mouth to speak to the witch ready to bargain everything and anything for her to heal me when I noticed that the vampires around were subtly, not so subtly trying to listen in on our conversation.
A growl grew in my chest as my aggression climbed. The Supreme Witch seemed to notice how nosy they were being as well because she nodded to Priscilla before turning back to me.
"We shall continue this conversation in my private quarters, Alpha."
Then she walked away disappear
