The moisture of the water was cold and chilly as Carlos gritted his teeth concurrently. He held Miriam in a bridal style as he trudged out of the stream, he dropped her slowly on the sandy grit before placing a hand on her forehead. Miriam's eyes were shut tightly! She seemed to have lost consciousness. Carlos crouched close to her body. He placed his head on her chest attempting to feel her heartbeat but he wasn't satisfied, he raised his head from her chest before quickly placing his hand on her neck to swirl her head gently to the other side but she didn't make a move which left him bothered. He thought of waking her up but it would be of no use, of course, she didn't have any idea of what was happening right now.
