Dante’s POV
Instantly, I regretted my words as Angel’s eyes flickered with pain. I knew she was interpreting what I said incorrectly. I wasn’t blaming her for what happened; it wasn’t her fault she couldn’t shift.
As soon as we left the hospital, Angel turned to me, determination shining in her eyes. “I want you to mark me right now, Dante.”
Quinn’s sudden presence was like a damn jack-in-the-box. Let’s mark our mate, Dante. You promised that once we found her, we would do it. And now she’s asking us. Make it happen, Captain, or I’ll take over and do it.
I ignored his warning, my attention fully fixed on trying to decipher Angel’s expression. I was aware of the limited time we had before she went into heat, but I didn’t want her asking to do it right now out of guilt.
