I shook my head and placed my hand on his shoulder.
"Lazarus," I said softly, "what the pack members and I would really like right now is to find out who is behind this. Who to blame can be set later. Perhaps they will be angry with you.” I said as I watched him.
“ They might cry. Everyone has lost at least one loved one. I myself was not spared. Watching one whom I had raised as a son, watching him die, is the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen. But I haven’t blamed you, Lazarus."
Lazarus shook his head. "You don’t understand, Magda," he said. I had never seen him look so serious.
"I saw it. His destruction. The destruction of our pack. I saw it. But I chose to join the Luna and him. I thought it was more important. I made a wrong decision, Magda. I chose wrong because I thought perhaps they would be strong enough."
