I was kept in that cell for two days, given food and water only a few times. "I wish I understood why he keeps you alive," Rosie said to me over and over again.
"Are you jealous, or is it just me?" I asked her in response.
Rosie laughed and then sat by the cell. "You have no idea who he is."
"I've heard my fair share of stories," I said.
Rosie shook her head. "No," she said. "All the stories you've heard, everything you think you know, is a lie. Or at least it's a stupid lie with a few elements of truth in it."
"What do you know about Riley Woods?" she asked, meeting my eyes.
I told her everything I had read about him, only for her to start laughing.
"Part of it is true. But most of it is nothing but bollocks."
"So what is the truth?"
She smiled at me, leaned against one of the iron bars, and began telling me his story.
