“What is”? Madam Gertrude asked as she stood beside me.
“The sunset”. I responded.
The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the clearing where the pack was gathered. It had been weeks since the battle, and the scars of that conflict were still visible. Debris from the fighting was being cleared, and the wounded were being tended to.
“We had survived. We had won”. I softly said.
Sky stood beside me, his presence a comforting anchor in the midst of the chaos. I looked at him, his face lined with fatigue but his eyes still sharp and determined.
"We need to talk about the rogues," he said, breaking the silence. "Especially the younger ones."
I nodded, knowing where this conversation was headed. "They need a place, Sky. They were following orders, trying to survive. They're not like Mikhail."
He sighed, rubbing his temples. "I know. And it's your suggestion that has been weighing on my mind. Including them in the pack... it's a big risk."
