Chapter 186: Last Days in The oven

"She's still in the prison. I want to go see her," I declared after Sky spoke.
"It's a stupid idea," he said, frowning at me.
"But I want to go and see her. I want to look at her and tell her that I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for?" he asked, his eyebrows raised in question.
I shook my head and rolled my eyes at him. "Because of me, she did that. I pushed her to do it."
"So you're saying you don't like the protective instincts being enough?" he asked, causing me to raise my eyebrows.
"I have no answer," I admitted, but I was glad when he agreed. "Fine," he said and drove me himself.
The drive to the prison was filled with an uncomfortable silence. Sky's grip on the steering wheel was tight, his knuckles white with tension. I glanced at him occasionally, feeling the weight of our unspoken words. As we pulled up to the imposing structure of the prison, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come.
