Chapter 103: Council Meetings
The council meeting itself was early.
So early that Madam Gertrude woke me up from bed at the crack of dawn.
"Come now, wake up. You can't be late."
"Why would I not want to be late to my own trial?" I groaned into my pillow.
"It's not a trial. And besides, they'll be expecting you," she said, patting me on the back and then splashing some water on my face.
"Hey!" I yelped as I got away from her. "At least I'm awake now," I mumbled and got up to get ready.
Madame Gertrude accompanied me to the council with Karl and Melissandra already there.
"Lovely to see you, Luna. It's good to know that my lessons in punctuality have been taken to heart. Unfortunately, my lessons in obedience of pack authority seem to have been thrown away," Melissandra said with a small bow.
"Still, it is good to see you alive and well. Positively glowing, if I might add," she said as I took a seat beside her.
"Thank you, Melissandra."
"You're not supposed to sit there," Karl said, tapping my arm.
