　　Damon 　　As our lips finally parted after that electric kiss, I couldn't help but touch Serena's soft cheeks with my trembling hands. There was an intense quiet, and Serena managed to utter a simple word. "Hi." 　　A soft chuckle escaped my lips, and I replied, "Hello." 　　Serena's gaze shifted to the dwindling fire crackling in the hearth from the window. "Alexei might get upset if the fire dies out again. Let me fix that first. I don’t want to upset an already irritated man," she remarked, her voice soft. 　　I glanced at the firewood in her arms and realized what she was about to do before I arrived. Seeing that another man was spending the night with her inside the cabin, I couldn't help but feel a hint of jealousy creeping in. I nodded, my expression turning serious as we entered the cozy cabin. 　　Serena noticed the change in my demeanor and might have realized what had dampened my mood. With a reassuring smile, she explained, "Don't worry about Alexei, for he already found his mate.
