Chapter 4

Three months later I couldn't believe that the past few months have flown by so fast. Nothing really interesting had happened during those months apart from the fact that Adam and I have grown quite close and have become close friends. I was on my way to the beach just to get my mind of things, relax and spend some time to myself to just you know "unwind" so to speak. I borrowed Gingers car which was quite easy to drive for my short trip there. I found a parking space and picked up my beach things. Leaving the car I got out and jumped onto the sand. I loved the feeling of my bare feet sinking into the hot sand. It was late evening and the sun was going to set soon. The beach was empty, which I prefer as I hate big crowds. I laid my towel on the sand and laid down myself. The sea looked so beautiful the different shades of blue are so pretty. So calm, so peaceful and ever so delightful and just to think it could change any moment now into a raging storm that could wipe out a whole city that was nature. It could change just within a blink of an eye, from calm and peaceful to raging and dreadful. I suppose that was life as well, always testing you and surprising you with unexpected twist and turns. Sometimes it was for the better and sometimes it was for the worst, my parent's death, my adoption, meeting Adam, being ignored for most of my life, heck ALL my life. Come to think about it, I was and still am only ignored by people my age which is strange. For some reason adults don't seem to have a problem with me. I never really bothered socializing with adults though, my whole life is fudged up ( excuse the sweet language) come to think of it. Oh, well I've had enough sulking for one day. With that last thought I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep listening to the wave's crash upon the shore as if it were breathing. ******Some time later***** I could hear the faintest of voices and a thud upon the ground, actually multiple thuds as if someone were running. I could see a bright light flashing on to my face even though my eyes were closed. 'FOUND HER!' someone yelled. I sat up and squinted at the bright light on my face. Rubbing my eyes I opened them again to see a frowning Chris, Ginger with her arms crossed and Adam all staring at me as if I just got accused of shoplifting, what the hell? ''Um... hey'' I said awkwardly looking at them. ''HEY! That's all you've got to say for yourself is hey!'' Chris said going red in the face, maybe that wasn't the right thing to say due to their facial expressions. Groaning I stretched and said, ''What did I do? From the looks of your faces...'' ''Do you have any idea how worried sick we were, Victoria?'' Ginger said narrowing her eyes on me. ''Um, no why?'' ''Why, why well you took Gingers car and didn't turn up for about five hours, you didn't answer our calls or messages, we thought, we thought you were going to do something reckless or that something happened to you!'' Chris said, no shouted. Yeash I wasn't gone for that long, perhaps their paranoid due to the last time when I was fifteen and ran away for two days. Adam still hasn't said anything yet I could tell he was worried and angry I think. To be honest I don't see what the big deal is their acting as if I was gone for a day or something, all I did was go to the beach and fell asleep for longer than expected, no big deal...right? ''Sorry if I scared you guys. I just came to relax and accidently fell asleep I honestly didn't mean for it to get blow out of proportion and make you all worried and what not.'' I told them honestly as I got up and started to pack my things away. ''Well next time please tell someone where you are going.'' Adam piped up. ''Okay, sorry... jeez!'' I mumbled. If only you could see their faces when they heard that, if looks could kill I would be five feet under. Oops, I almost forgot that Chris and Ginger werewolves and could hear me and apparently Adam heard me to. I got scolded the whole drive back and, apparently some big shot Alpha came to town to look for his mate and we were supposed to go for the dinner but due to my absence my adopted parents had to conjure up an excuse to leave early so that they could come and search for my poor soul. They also informed Adam who came to help out. I wasn't really mad about being grounded as I never used to do anything on the weekends until I started being friends with Adam. So sitting in my room for the weekend is no big deal but Chris and Ginger don't need to know that. In fact it was quite funny to see them look pleased with themselves when I started fake complaining about it, he-he. By the time we arrived to our territory it was late, about nine or ten o'clock. Immediately I could sense other foreign wolves present. Stepping out of the car I got a weird feeling. I don't know how to explain it. Must be all the new wolves causing my sensors to get agitated. I really did feel bad about the whole beach incident so before I went to my room I apologized again. Jumping into the shower I felt much better and less itchy ( I don't recommend sleeping on the beach) and my muscles relaxed which made me feel better. All in all I felt better I'm sure you catch my drift. I changed into my pajamas and hopped into my King sized bed (I love it so much, sorry) and as soon as my huge head hit the fluffy white pillow my eyes fluttered shut and I drifted into another peaceful sleep. Little did I know that nature had a trick up its sleeve and was about to hit me with a whirlwind that would rattle me to the bone.
