I was stretched out on my stomach across my bed reading a book. It was the most blissful thing, yet so simple. I hadn’t done anything close to this in...What? Years?
Dante had given me the day off since the incident in the basement. I knew he went down to interrogate the vampire in there, and the air was tense when he demanded that I go up.
It annoyed me that he refused that I get to be part of the interrogation. I was as much a part of it as he was, yet he denied me to take a stand against the enemy.
Except when he punishes me with brutal exercise routines.
Gah!
I released a long sigh, turning the first page. I finished up with my cleaning duties, then helped Jace type out some paperwork, even though Dante gave me off.
It was me trying to rebel against him somehow to avenge the anger I felt for getting rejected from joining in on the interrogation.
I didn’t cool down until noon. It was just past dinner, where neither Dante nor Liam showed up, which only worried me more.
