Once Matt had departed, Camden retrieved the sealed envelope from beneath her pillow, turning it over in her hands repeatedly. Uncertainty clouded her thoughts as she contemplated whether to open it or not. With a deep sigh, realizing there would never be a better moment than the present, she tore open the envelope, revealing a lengthy handwritten letter from Clayton.
The sight of his name at the bottom of the page had stirred a mixture of emotions within her already. With a trembling breath, she began to read his heartfelt words:
Dear Camden,
