CHAPTER SIXTY ONE - BETWEEN THE LIES

Max's voice rang out across the parking lot. "Alright, everyone! Grab your bags and gather by the main lodge. We'll do a quick tour before getting settled in our cabins." Ava and Jenna exchanged glances before shouldering their duffels and joining the group forming near the largest building. Max stood at the front, looking every bit the outdoorsman in his expensive hiking boots and tailored fleece jacket. "Welcome to Pine Ridge," he began, his arms spread wide. "This will be our home for the next five days as we work on becoming a stronger, more unified team." He led them on a brisk walk around the property, pointing out key locations. "Over there is the dining hall - all meals will be served there. To the left are the activity fields where we'll be doing most of our team-building exercises. And straight ahead are the cabins where you'll be staying." As they approached the living quarters, a collective groan rose from the group. "Is there a problem?" Max asked, his eyebrow arched.
