For the first time, a flicker of fear crossed Jonah's face. But he quickly masked it with bravado. "Good luck proving any of that in court. It'll be your word against mine, and I've got friends in high places."
Ava couldn't suppress a smile as she held up her phone, showing the active recording. "Actually, we've got a bit more than that."
The color drained from Jonah's face as he realized he'd been caught in his own trap. Without another word, he turned and stormed out of the office.
As soon as the door closed behind him, Max and Ava sprang into action. They knew they had limited time to salvage the situation with North Star Pharmaceuticals and mitigate the damage Jonah had done.
"I'll start working on damage control with the board and our shareholders," Max said, already reaching for his phone. "We need to distance ourselves from Jonah's actions as quickly as possible."
