Renee turned off the engine of her car. She sat in the car for a while, thinking about everything and nothing. “What next?” She muttered. She had gone out to meet with people she hoped would help her get her career back on track but it was a waste of time. None were willing to help because associating with her would cause them to bear some of the heat she was facing. “This is so unfair,” she muttered, sniffing as she blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. She tightened her grip on the steering wheel. “No matter what happens, I'll get back to the very top and no one will stop me or bring me down,” she swore. She got down from her car and slammed the door shut with so much force that she had to turn and check whether or not she had damaged it. “I doubt Daniel would fix it up if I damaged it,” she said, her tone bitter. As she was about to turn back, someone clamped their hands over her mouth and held her to their body. What the hell! Am I being kidnapped?
