“Thank you,” Anna said as Davis placed a plate of egg omelettes in front of her.
“You're welcome,” he told her as he sat at the other end of the table.
“Why’re you sitting so far away?” She asked him with a raised brow.
He looked at her, a scowl on his face as she furiously cut a piece of his omelette. “I just felt you might want me sitting away so you don't have to ask me if I'm going to stab you to death or something since you seem to think I'm some sort of monster who destroys the lives of all those he comes in contact with.”
Her jaw nearly dropped to her plate at his words. She hadn't imagined he'd be so affected by her words and actions. I don't blame him. I'd feel the same way if someone thought of me that way especially when it's the one who keeps talking about how we should trust each other.
But still, he's not entirely innocent either.
