317 CHASING SHADOWS
Shiva cautiously stepped into the dimly lit phone booth, glancing left and right as if expecting the men who were chasing after her to leap out and take her back to the basement. At the thought of returning to the room she had been confined in, she shuddered. “I can't afford to let them catch me. I have to do this fast,” She muttered. “This booth isn't helping matters either.”
She had been able to escape earlier but she couldn't see herself doing It again if they came at her with numbers while she was in the booth. It didn't help that the muffled sounds of the city outside barely reached the confined space, creating an eerie silence.
Her fingers traced the worn buttons of the payphone before finally settling on the one she needed. A deep breath escaped her as she wondered whether calling Fay was a wise decision.
“She’s never liked me and for all I know, she could be a part of this. What if she sends them to me?” She wondered. Even if she's not a part, what if she informs her
