255 THE ONE TO BE BLAMED
“Good day, detectives,” Anna said politely as she tried to stand up from her bed but one of the detectives held out his hand to stop her.
“Oh, no,” He shook his head. “You should sit down and rest. We're just here to ask a few questions.”
Daniel walked forward. “Maybe you could come back another time. She's quite tired and needs all the rest that she can get. We'll let you know when she feels better and up to it,” he told them politely. He didn't want Anna to relive what had happened when she was still struggling with accepting it. Although she was strong and tried not to appear weak, he knew she was suffering terribly. He was certain that she was hiding it, even from him but he could see it — after how she broke down because of her child, he knew for a fact that she wasn't alright.
