235 THE LADY WITH A HAMPER
The sound of cereal hitting the bowl filled the kitchen as Kita poured herself a bowl of cereal in annoyance. It had been nearly two weeks since she came to live with her son but she still hadn't succeeded in drawing him and Anna apart. Sure, they weren't close as they used to be before she came but it wasn't enough for her to be satisfied.
They weren't fighting yet and that was what she needed— what she wanted. With a sigh, she brought out the jug of milk in the fridge. “Even if I haven't achieved my aim, at least I've made some progress. Little progress is still progress after all. Just be patient, Kita. Soon, there'll be no one stopping you from spending quality time with your son.”
It just wasn't fair. She couldn't understand why other people didn't understand her needs. She had been away from her son for so long and all she wanted now was to spend time with him but Anna… Anna just couldn’t understand it.
