228 Doubts And Discontents
“Why do you keep glancing at the door?” Kita questioned when Davis wouldn't stop looking in the direction of the door. They had gotten back from their outing an hour before and he still hadn't seen any sign of Anna. It was worrisome, to say the least.
“It's nothing, mum,” he said as he turned his focus to the movie he was watching with his mum but it didn't take long for him to continue looking at the door.
It was nearly seven p.m. and she was still not home for someone who had left early in the morning. What could they possibly be talking about for it to take them this long?
He trusted Anna but he didn't believe Daniel wouldn't seize whatever chance he had to take her for himself. What if he's planting all sorts of nonsense in her head and convinces her to leave me? Mentally shaking his head, he chuckled nervously. I'm her Husband and yet I'm worried about something this foolish. This is not like you Davis.
“You'll see her whenever she comes home,” Kita said in annoyance.
