“So, be honest with me: LeBron James or Stephen Curry?” Cecilia asked jokingly as she twirled the glass of wine in her hand.
Henry looked at her briefly before letting out a chuckle. “I’m not going to answer that.”
“Why not?”
“I choose not to,” he replied, shrugging. As he did so, the hall lights illuminated his dark skin. “They’re both alright. That’s all I’ll say.”
Cecilia pouted and took a sip of her wine. “That’s so vague. Come on, don’t leave me hanging like that.”
“You just asked me to choose between a black and white guy,” he pointed out with a fake grimace.
“It doesn’t mean anything,” she chuckled with a jab to his arm. “Trust me, no one cares. Sure, inside the hall, it must have felt a bit awkward, but we’re outside now. There’s nothing to feel awkward about.”
“There’s a lot of things to feel awkward about,” he replied, his face deadpan. “And that question makes it even worse.”
