186 MORNING AFTER
“So? What did they say?” Davis questioned as they both sat at the dining table, next to each other.
“She didn't say much. Right now, all I know is that they're both fine now although she said her house is unsafe for her,” She sighed. “I don't understand any of what is going on with her but we're meeting tomorrow. They'll explain it better when they get here,” she heaved a sigh of relief, closing her eyes as she tried to hold back the tears that wanted to burst out.
“If you want to cry, go ahead and do so,” he told her as he pulled her into a hug.
Now that she had been given the freedom to cry as much as she wanted, she didn't hold back as she soaked his clothes in her tears. “I was so scared, Davis. I couldn't stop worrying about them and wondering if they were dead or alive. Although I said we should stay positive and all, it was really hard to do with no leads on where they were. I was so happy when I heard her voice. I thought I was going to die from happiness—”
