134 UNWANTED ASSIGNMENT
The sounds of grunting filled the room as Paul threw jabs at the punching bag, sweat dripping down his face like a waterfall. How long am I going to do this? I'm really tired. All he wanted was to drop it all, run off somewhere he could enjoy his dramas and live life in peace.
“Is a life without guns too much to ask for?” He muttered as he punched even harder. He was tired of it all. The lies, the pain, the betrayal but he couldn't quit. If he did, he would die. Although he didn't mind dying, he just didn't want to lose her.
If he defaulted from his goal, she would also be punished for it and he was certain the punishment would be nothing other than death itself.
His ringtone broke him out of his thoughts and he stopped, his chest heaving up and down as he breathed heavily. Davis. “Boss,” he said.
“Good morning, Paul. I apologize for calling you this late but I need you to do something for me,” Davis said.
