Anna stood up from her seat but Diego pulled her right back down. “Why did you pull back? I should go check on him just in case—”
“You can do that later, Anna,” Diego told her. “You came here to meet our grandfather and walking out of the dinner without informing him or speaking with him won't exactly give you a good impression in his eyes so stay back. You can check on Davis later and frankly, you don't need to because this is a very common thing happening here.”
She glanced at their grandfather who was staring at her fixedly, a curious look in his eyes. She smiled awkwardly, nodding her head slowly. “He doesn't seem to like me that much anyway so what's the point of trying to impress him?”
