CHAPTER 8 A CLASS BALL
As the sun peeked over the horizon, signaling the start of a new day, Jane found herself tugging on Oliver's sleeve as they walked through the school corridors on their way to class.
"Listen, Oliver, I have something to tell you," she said, her tone serious. "I won't be joining you for detention today."
Oliver raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Really? But what about our little coffee club?"

Oliver's mouth dropped open in disbelief. "You have a date with Theodore? The Theodore? How on earth did you manage that?" he asked, his voice full of wonder.
Jane grinned, a flush rising to her cheeks. "Let's just say, I have my ways. And anyway, I thought you'd be happy for me. Aren't you always complaining about how much time I spend in detention?"
Oliver shrugged, a small smile creeping across his face. "I am happy for you, honestly. But I am a bit jealous that I'll be stuck in the library by myself."
