Chapter 6

KADE'S POV I sensed her presence before I saw her. Andrea. My mate. I finally found her, however, I didn't expect the first word I heard from her mouth would be cruel like that. "If sleeping with some random man gets me away from you, I’ll do it gladly again and again!" So, she just took me as a tool to revenge on her ex? I felt violence forming inside me. I threw her ex-boyfriend aside, causing him to hit the wall hard. Too weak. I couldn't believe she used me just to get back at such kind of shit? I took a step forward to Andrea. And I still held a ridiculous glimmer of expectation that she would clarify it was a misunderstanding as she saw me. However, she didn't. She just looked down to avoid my gaze. Even the mate bond thrummed, she didn't try to put her hands on me and beg for my forgiveness. Instead, she took a step backward, redrawing our distance. "Thanks for your help, Sir," she muttered, her voice was even. "I need to leave now." Sir? That was definitely not how she called me last night. So, it was her answer, right? I was only a tool for her and that was enough to explain why she could leave me after sex without a second thought. And now, just after I helped her, she was trying to leave me again! I'd never been so insulted in my life! And an Alpha wouldn't tolerate that. Since she was just a common slut who liked sleeping around, then I did not need to hold the mercy. 'What are going to do, Kade?!' Jaxon alerted. ‘Teach the omega how to respect her Alpha,’ I gritted. 'Don't do stupid things! We should trust our mate!' Jaxon protested. 'Like she did that?' I sneered locking my wolf up. I was sick of hearing how precious the mate bond was. I am the Alpha and she's only an omega. Even if she's my mate, she should bow down to me first! “You think you can just walk away?” My voice was low and cold, like a sheathed knife, pointing straight at her back. She stopped in her tracks, but didn't turn around. Her silence was like a provocation, completely igniting the anger within me. When she finally replied, "I don't think we have a business together," I almost laughed. Oh, Andrea. You have no idea. "We do, especially when I am still the boss of this mall," I turned, my eyes falling on her uniform. A staff uniform. My staff. She stiffened and clenched her hands, "What do you want?" I walked up to turn her around and pinned her chin. Her feigning pure eyes were filled with shock. "First, don't turn your back on me," I hissed and leaned closer, only an inch between our lips. "Second, apologize." The electricity kept sparkling between us and she felt it too. The moment she bit her lips, all I wanted to do was rip off her uniform and claim her again. Yet only annoying words came from her stubborn mouth. "Why should I apologize to two scumbags?" Her eyes started to well up but I just felt more furious. How dare she compare me to that ridiculous beta? And even our link floating in the air, she just pretended it didn't exist. She didn't care about our bond at all! "If you don't do that," my eyes narrowed as I demanded coldly, carrying an undeniable authority. “From this day forward, you'll never be hired by all industries under my name.” Well, I knew it was probably a bit much. The industries of the Nightshades were spread all over the country, from high-end hotels to chain shopping malls, from financial companies to tech businesses. Once I gave my order, she would not be able to live in this city, or even this country. But she really needed some lessons as I wouldn't let anyone walk away intact after using me. I expected Andrea to crumble, plead, or maybe even cry. I wouldn't mind giving her a chance to mend her ways but only if she learned to admit her mistakes properly. But she just glared at me, her eyes blazing with shock and anger. "I knew you're an asshole too," she muttered, gritting, and then somehow she got rid of my grip and pushed me away. She slipped off the company’s blazer. Her breasts straining against her blouse. "Here," she said sharply, with enough venom to poison a small wolf. "I don't want it either. I'm glad I no longer work for you arrogant assholes!" Before I could respond, she picked up the battered suitcase and stormed out. "What an ungrateful woman!" Her asshole ex spoke, with that sickening grin on his face. “Andrea has always been so capricious. She's only an omega yet dreams of manipulating every man with her slutty pussy. I knew a wise Alpha like you would not be confused by her." "I'm at your service if you-" I didn't wait for him to finish. My fist slammed into his face with such force that he staggered back a few steps and crashed into the wall. He covered his face and stared at me incredulously, a trace of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth. “Get out of my sight.” My voice was low and cold, like an enraged beast ready to tear apart the prey in front of me. Whatever happened between me and Andrea didn't mean I was going to tolerate others talking about her like that. The man was intimidated by my aura and fled in fear immediately. Jaxon whistled low. ‘You finally do the right thing. Now, let's go after our mate.’ 'Where is your self-respect? She used us and chose to leave us.' I reminded him, tightening my grip on the blazer. Her scent lingered faintly on the fabric, a cruel reminder that she had been within arm’s reach minutes ago. 'She needs to taste some lessons first.' I dropped the coat on the floor and then my phone rang. I pulled it out, and l sighed when I saw the caller ID. "Grandfather," I said curtly. "Kade!" he was yelling at the top of his lungs. "Where the hell are you? You’re late for dinner with Natasha." My teeth clenched. "I didn’t agree to that dinner. Or the engagement you went behind my back to announce on national television." "You don’t have to agree with it," he said, his tone as cold as mine. "This arrangement is for your good.” "No more dates or arranged marriages," I said, some of the exasperation I felt leaking into words. "I’ve already found my mate." The line went silent for a beat. "Your mate?" he asked, his voice dripping with curiosity. "Who is she? Who is her father? What pack are they from?" My grip on the phone tightened. The questions were beginning to get annoying. "It's my own business, grandfather." I bit out. "When the time is right, I'll bring her to you." "Kade, remember that the Obsidian Howl won't accept any Luna of humble origins! Especially omeg-" “Have a nice day, grandfather.” I hung up before he could continue, shoving the phone back into my pocket. ‘So when are you going to find our mate back?’ Jaxon snickered. 'I didn't promise that,' I shrugged, heading for the entrance of the hall. 'At least I won't do that until she learns enough.' 'And I am sure she'd run back for us soon.' I reassured my wolf as I sat into my sports car. 'I already have a plan.' And Andrea would cry for my mercy.
