Chapter 16: Who is she? Damn my back hurts sleeping in the ground. I turned to Jayden who was already awake but just staring. What is she thinking? "Jayden? Good morning. " I greeted him and rubbed my eyes. She suddenly came to her senses when I spoke, she also smiled at me and greeted me. "Good morning, June." She looks cute when she smile, she should smile often. I stood up and touched his cheek. "You look cute- "What are you two doing? Breakfast is up. " Jasper and left immediately. "I SWEAR TO- CANT YOU JUST STAY STILL FOR JUST A FEW MINUTES ?!" We could hear Jasper scream, he probably didn"t get enough sleep because he was the one watching over the woman. I face Jayden again, awwww she"s so adorbs. "J-june…" I smiled and stopped, her cheeks look fluffy now. "Let's eat." I told him we were together and held his hand. I saw Gray and Alistair coming out from their tent. They look awesome when they wake up but then Art came. He looks like a zombie coming out of his own tent, seemingly sleepless. "I can"t believe this! Jasper's noise, I can't get enough sleep- why am I placed near their tent anyway ?! " Art complained again. "What kind of noise?" Gray asked once yawning. He seems to be thinking differently. "Oh shut up Art, this girl isn"t even resting. I have to tie her up in order for her not to move. " Jasper also complained. "Well you volunteered to take care of him, so technically your fault. Also Art you placed your tent next to Jasper"s so it"s also your fault. " Jayden said once taking a cup. She then gave it to me. "Tea?" "Yessss ~" I happily took the tea. I stood next to him and Al stood next to me, I'm used to it because I often mix for him. His eyes are still close though… "Al, here." he nodded and yawned then took the cup. He really looks pretty in the morning I"m not lying… "Where"s the girl?" "Oh she"s asleep now, but last night she was very noisy and she was always fighting with Jasper. Jasper"s still in the tent. –Art "We didn"t catch her name yet." We all just nodded, I mean it"s early in the morning. The beauty here in the morning, everything is so beautiful. But I"m currently staring at Al because of his pretty face, hopefully all I woke up like this. Alistair yawned again and again. "Yea, being pretty must be tiring." I joked, I actually really floated when I said that to him. He slowly tilted his head. "Then you must be exhausted." I immediately bowed to what he said, HOW CAN HE SAY THAT SO CARELESSLY. I was just joking- AH NEVERMIND "Wow in the morning, dance right away what you're doing? Can ya"ll go do that somewhere away from us? poor singles and no crush- " "Who said I don"t have a crush?" Jayden interrupted Art"s nagging. "Edi stay away too. Taena niyo, let me eat my freaking breakfast in peace. I don't have any more sleep, you added. " –Art. We ignored him and just ate, he will complain again when we answer. We didn"t leave the camp first, we"re not sure if this person is Breatrice or not… She was already awake and was eating something. Jayden already cleaned her up.But she"s still silent and all. She really looks like Breatrice but more savage, Breatrice has a sad emotion on her eyes. "We didn't catch your name." Art started the conversation. "I didn't throw it." The girl responded. "Heeeyy ~ that was pretty good." Art complimented her. "But seriously though, what"s your name?" "Yeah, we don't know you yet." Jayden added, trying to be gentle unlike Art who was more straightforward. "Ah…" she looked away. "I- I don't remember."
"You can"t remember? Why? " I asked "I just cant ok? I woke up not remembering anything except I need to protect… someone. " She responded. "You all should get out of here, that monster is coming back." "You mean the one we just defeated last night?" –Art "That"s not the only monster living in the forest. Those things eat dragons and humans, they would disappear during the day. Since they hate sunlight or anything that shines. " She explained. "I- didn"t mean to hurt anyone. I just want them gone in the forest. " "So basically you"re scaring us to go away? That actually works with your dark magic. It"s creepy. " Art said while nodding. "Y-yes, t-thank you for saving me. My magic only scares people it didn"t mean any harm. I-I can"t defeat those monsters during the night since my magic is also darkness. " She looked down at her hands. "I don't have a name or maybe I forgot my name." "You looked like the girl we're looking for." Alistair stood up and show her the picture in the paper. she immediately grabbed it and stared at it. "I-it looked like me… I"m Breatrice? Alphonse? " "Does that ring a bell to you?" Gray muttered. "N-no. I don"t really remember- "How about the one you"re protecting? Maybe we can help. " –Jayden "A-ah… I only remembered waking up in the cabin. There is someone there… a young woman. She took care of me, she said I looked familiar. " She explained. "She has mixed color hair, it was blue, white and red. Sh-she was beautiful. " "Red..white… blue? Mixed? Isn"t that the color symbol of the dragon? " Alistair spoked. "Red represents the earthagons, white represents the ariagons and blue represents the aquagons. If it combined then " "Pensyvia? Uh I heard she"s a dragon. " Art frowned. "Maybe he's a human being?" –Gray "I didn't get her name, but she asked me to protect the yin and yang dragons." She said. "Yin and yang? What"s that? I never heard of it. " -Gray "It was the treasure of the island. No one really knew it except the monsters chasing for it. If they managed to get those two dragons, they will be light resistant. They would kill everything inside this island. They don"t die for what… "she added "Yin and Yang? Where is it? " I asked. She flinched. "I-I don"t know. All I have to do is to keep people away from the forest. Since I don"t know where it was… "she sighed. We were silent the whole time. It was a new discovery and we didn"t know how to respond. If only she can remember anything then it would be fine. But she cant, even her past. So is sha just here in the forest because she cant remember anything? All she remember and told was to protect the island? What about her family? What was his past experience? "I can make you remember." Art said. We immediately looked at him. Wait he can? "A-art… are you serious?" Gray was also surprised, he looked more surprised than all of us. He stared at Gray for a few seconds, like they were talking eye to eye. "I have this ability since birth, no one knew about it except me. I never use it much, it"s creepy getting into people"s past. " He shrugged and stood up then went to the girl. He bent down. "Keep looking at my eyes and you will see your past." I was bothered when Art said that. Did he see my past? My previous life? He acted like he knew me from the beginning. He never appeared in my previous life. And he had that kind of ability? I know a few people who were gifted by the gods with awesome abilities and they were popular. When you"re loved by the Gods, you will be granted with such awesome abilities like Art"s or flying or healing or seeing their future. Any abilities I never saw Art in any of those popular people. Did he keep it by himself? We just waited the whole time, they were kind of having a staring contest. Im still bothered, what If he knew about my past? What if he"s gonna tell the others? What if- "Are you ok? You looked bothered. " Gray asked me. "A-ah yeah I'm fine." No I"m not, what if Art knew? I should ask him later… They have been staring for like 30 minutes now… "How long is this gonna take?" Jasper asked, he looks annoyed. "She"s crying…" Jayden said so we looked. She was already holding Art"s hand, Art"s hands were placed in her cheeks so she didn"t move. "No- NO STOP STOP!" She"s shouting and her eyes were filled with tears. "STOP!" Jasper was about to interrupt but Gray didn"t let him. "Let Art do the job, if you interrupt them his eyes will bleed." Alistair said with his arm crossed. Jasper just sighed and nodded. Wait? His eyes will bleed if he accidentally break the eye contact without finishing it? How did Alistair know that? "How did you know that?" I asked Al. "I read it in a book. You know? One of the popular people with abilities. Art has the similar ability as that guy. " Alistair explained. Oh? Similar? "STOOOOOOOOOP! PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU STOP! " She"s screaming now. "Almost there." Art whispered… then he let go of her.

She was grasping in pain, and she"s crying. Jayden and Jasper approached immediately

"No-" she muttered. "Flint."

Art is closing his eyes…

"Hey you ok?" Gray asked.

"Yeah ... I'm fine." Art was rubbing his eyes, he"s also crying. "Ah damn, my eyes hurt."

"What happened?" I asked.

"She"s Breatrice Alphonse. She lost her memories because of the monster, someone helped her… and her friend. " I tilted my head.

"Friend? You mean Finn"s grandson? "

"I don't know, maybe but his name is Flint." Art sighed and rubbed his eyes. "You should ask her what happened."

Alistair and I just nodded. Alistair and Gray went to Breatrice… but I wanted to ask something to Art.

"Art… have you looked into my eyes before?" I asked, he gave a confusing look.

"I have… why? I have looked into everyone"s past here. I"m sorry without telling any of you. " He said. "My ability is to stare at people"s eyes and I can see there past, but when I want them to remember there past. They need to stare into my eyes in return. "

I nodded, I gulped. Did he see my previous life?

"Ah what did you see in my past?" I asked while smiling.

"Oh nothing, just your childhood self chasing the prince. It"s probably what I saw all the time when I wanted to look into your eyes. " I laughed, also relieved when I heard his answer. It"s better than seeing my previous life.

"Ah, that"s embarrassing. Jayden"s good at reading the eyes emotions too. She told me… We should ask Breatrice what happened to her then… "I said while waving at him. He just nodded.

"Hey… why did you do that?" Gray asked in the distance, while Art just smirked. "You could have got caught."

"Haha, good thing I"m good at acting. Don"t you think? " Art answered while stretching his arms up high.

"Yeah, good thing you"re good at lying too. Be careful next time. " Gray whispered once walking towards June

Art just sighed and thought ‘They will know soon anyway."

"What happened?"

I asked when she already calmed down.

"I didn"t manage to save him. I didn"t manage to save Flint. " She whispered, she was staring at the ground. "H-he saved-

"You should tell us from the very beginning." I said to her with a flat voice.

"Ah ... uhm." She looked at me with sorrowful eyes. "I-I was adopted and I became a princess. My parents loved me so much that I have too much freedom. I love discovering new things, they enrolled me to a school last year. They want me to take politics but I wanted to learn magic. I have no choice but to take it, so I asked for my last wish. I wanted to explore an island, they let me… "

"I came here in Pendragon Island. I don"t know why but this island was so majestic. It felt like I have been here before. I met a friend, his name is Flint. We went on an adventure together, but… there was an accident when we are in our way back home. It wasn"t really dark but it started raining… there was no sunlight. "

"The-the dark monster appeared, we were near the cliff that time. He was hit by one of the monster, i-I tried to save him. I have managed to grab his arm, but it was slipping. I don"t know what happened but I got hit by a rock and lost consciousness. "

"When I woke up I was inside the cabin… She said she managed to save me, b-but Flint already fell from the cliff."

We nodded. That was awful…

"Flint? Finn"s grandson? " I asked, she immediately looked at me and grabbed my hands.

"F-finn! Is… is he mad at me? I- "She"s crying again. "It was all my fault, I dragged Flint into this."

"No it was an accident." Jasper sighed "You don't know what the future holds."

"T-the… knives! The swords! Where are- "she stood up and ran towards the cabin, we immediately followed her. She was holding one of the knives… "Th-this was his collection."

"Your injured, don't run like that." Jayden said to her.

"I-I'm sorry."

"Since we already found you. Can we take her back now? " Art intruded, I saw Jayden and Jasper glaring at him. "What?"

"Tak-take me back? Where ?! N-no I can"t do that. I can"t face Finn for what I have done to his son. " She cried. "M-my parents… they don"t understand me. I-I wanted to "

"Breatrice you"re a princess, your parents asked the school to find you here. We can't go back without you. " Gray replied

"I can"t… I"m sorry. I have to protect ... what she asked me to protect. " Art stood up and touched his shoulder.

"You mean the Yin and Yang dragon? I saw it in your memories. I can"t clearly see who the woman was but she mentioned that she must protect it with all her life. She already explained why she must protect it. " Art said

"Ye-yes… and at least that's what I paid for what I did to Flint. If I protect it, then the island won"t be in danger. " She whispered. "I just can't leave this island without knowing the yin and yang isn't safe."

"Where is it? The Yin and Yang I mean. " Art asked.

"I-I don't know." He said with a bow.

"How are you protecting it without knowing where it is?" Art asked again.

"I-I really don"t know, she only said protect the yin and yang dragons… wait. Why c-cant I remember what happened next? " he asked himself in shock.

"She should rest…" Jasper suggested. "It's getting dark."

"I-I can"t remember. You"re Art right? D-do you remember what happened next? In my memories? " Art shook his head. "I"m re-really sorry. I will stay in the island and-

"You should think about your decisions today, we'll talk tomorrow." Gray said and walked outside.

"Yeaaahh, hey Jasper! I saw some dragon outside. You said you speak dragon language. " Art said once slapping Jasper. "You should speak to them ~"

"I didn't say anything like that." Jasper made a face. Art just laughed it off and dragged him outside.

"Ah it's getting dark, I should cook dinner." Jayden also went outside.

Breatrice was just staring at the swords and knives. She was staring at it like she was remembering something.

"Leave her be." Alistair whispered to me, so I just nodded and we both left.

It was already dinner time, so I went to call Breatrice…

"Breatrice?" I looked around the cabin, where is she?

I went to the counter and saw some carving on the table… it says ‘FIND ME"
Oh fuck.

"BREATRICE IS GONE!"
