CHAPTER 296: EMILY AT LAST
Caleb's expression turned serious as he listened closely. The faint sound of a woman's sobs reached his ears. "You're right," he said, his brow furrowing. "It sounds like... Emily."
Both of them exchanged a glance of realization before breaking into a run towards the sound. The cries grew louder as they approached, leading them to a small clearing where Emily lay on the ground, tears streaming down her face.
"Emily!" Juliet called out.
Emily looked up, her face a mask of pain and desperation. "Juliet?" she whispered, her voice hoarse. "I can't... I can't move."
Caleb knelt beside her, his face filled with concern. "What happened?" he asked gently. "Where's Daniel?"
Emily's expression hardened. "That bastard left me," she spat bitterly. "He just left me here."
