CHAPTER 284: THE FUNERAL OF FIRE
Caleb told Juliet that they needed to focus on Maya's funeral and try their best to make it a dignified farewell. They believed that by honoring her memory properly, they could help her soul find peace. The next day dawned somber and overcast, as if the heavens themselves mourned Maya’s passing. Friends, family, and colleagues all gathered, dressed in black, to pay their last respects. The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow and the air filled with the muted sounds of weeping and hushed conversations.
Fido stood at the front, dressed in a sharp black suit that seemed to amplify his grief. Tears streaked down his face, but he tried to keep his composure. His love for Maya was palpable, his pain raw and exposed. Caleb walked over to Fido and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Fido," Caleb said softly, "everything is going to be fine. We’re all here for you. We’ll get through this together."
